This cache has been set in a local nature reserve close to the town centre . This is the site where the old Bury St Edmunds greyhound track was situated until the early 1990's when it was demolished to create the nature reserve . This is an area of outstanding beauty where much wildlife can be seen including deer , rabbits and various birds . This is also home to a lake , waterways and a play area for children.
The cache is in this area because it is a place I love to bring my geo brats to enjoy the peace and quiet ( although a dulcet tone of trains and the A14 can be heard).
permission has been given for this cache by the local council and the park rangers who have requested that geocachers only walk on the marked footpaths and cut grass ways as wild flowers do grow here. They have also requested nobody enters the water !!!! Please take care near water with children .
