This cache is located in a north east canyon on Hot Springs
Mountain near Johnson Lane, Minden area. 500 foot elevation medium
hike uphill not too difficult. eight tenths mile from parking area.
Take 395 south of Carson City to Stephanie Ln. Take Stephanie all
the way up to E. Valley (the second stop sign) and turn left,
follow to dead end and turn right, at pavement end take dirt road
(easy 2WD) to parking area at:
N39° 03.619 W119° 41.971
The cache will be West of the parking area up the small canyon.
There is no trail at first but a good one leading all the way to
the cache from the base of the little canyon. Bring water and watch
for snakes if the weather is warm. There are other ways to get to
the cache but this one is the easiest way I know of. Take a camara
as there are things to photograph here. Please do not move any
rocks to avoid more erosion to the old homested. Anything laying
around is protected by state laws regarding historical sites.
