Cabela's Letterbox Hybrid

This cache has been archived.

SWIAALB: THIS CACHE HAS BEEN A LOT OF FUN AND A FUN MEMORY OF OUR 2002 VACATION TO SOUTH DAKOTA.

ITS TIME TO ARCHIVE IT SINCE WE HAVE TO RELY ON OTHERS TO MAINTAIN IT. ITS JUST NOT FAIR TO IMPOSE ON YOU NICE PEOPLE SO MUCH!

THANKS FOR A FUN CACHE. I KNOW THIS HAS BEEN A FAVORITE SPOT FOR A LOT OF GEOCACHERS!!!

MAYBE A LOCAL WOULD LIKE TO PLANT THEIR OWN VERSION OF ONE. ITS NOT HARD TO GET MANAGER PERMISSION.

HAPPY HUNTING

Geocache Description:

DON'T TAKE THE CABELA'S PENNY. This is a TAKE NOTHING LEAVE NOTHING Cache. The general location is obvious but the clues will really help. This was one of Dad's favorite stops on our trip to Mount Rushmore!

======================================================= Thanks to Hotdogs Off Trail - Bonnie, Jeff, Madison, & Murray from Wisconsin for replacing and updating this micro while passing through on vacation. See their September 19 2003 log. The container is now a camoflaged pill vial a little larger than the original 35mm film cannister, but still micro. (PLEASE LEAVE the penny in the container for others. You can make your own rolled penny inside the doors if you wish one.) ========================================================== CLUES ========================================================== Stand with your back to the (clue encrypted below)
facing the smallest (or most distance) blue water tower.
19 strides (or 38 paces), then left 2 strides.
Find this micro along the highway edge of the rock.

If you feel that someone is watching you then sit and rest there a while. :o)

Please be sure to return the rolled penny back to the film canister: it is for letterboxers to "stamp up" with or make a pencil rubbing with in their log book.
Bring your own pen and write small.
BTW. These were child size strides and paces
PS. The first searchers had trouble so we thought we should add this note: This is a very small box ...a little longer than a film canister. We were able to lay it right against the rock and just under the turf....the grass just lifted up like a carpet and provided us the perfect spot. It looked very weed wacker proof .
