Seikan Renrakusen (ferryboats) that was in service between Aomori and Hakodate had had very important function for transportation of both people and cargo between Honshu and Hokkaido Island before completing the Seikan Tunnel. There is a railroad for shipping many things. Of course, it is not active, now. Please bring your pen.
青函トンネルが誕生するまでは青函連絡船が本州と北海道をつなぐ重要な役割を果たしていました。旅客だけではなく大量の貨物も輸送されていました。ここまで鉄道で運んだものを積み込むための引込み線がありますが、もちろん現在は利用されることはありません。筆記具を持参ください。
