LE SITE :
La statue du Neg' Marron se situe à l'entrée ouest du bourg du Diamant. Cette statue est érigée en hommage aux Nègres Marrons, nom donnés aux esclaves rebelles fugitifs qui se cachaient dans la montagne et perpétuaient les traditions de vie africaine.
Réalisé par Monsieur Hector Charpentier cette statue érigée à l'entrée du bourg, symbolise la lutte du peuple et qui aboutit à la rupture des chaînes.Ce monument inauguré le 22 mai 1998 marque le cent cinquantième anniversaire de l'abolition de l'esclavage.Il sert de témoin à la mémoire et aux générations à venir.

THE SITE:
The statue of Neg ' Marron is situated in the entrance West of the village of the Diamant. This statue is set up in homage to the Brown Negros, the name given to the escaped fly-away slaves who hid in the mountain and immortalized the traditions of African life.
Realized by Mister Hector Charpentier this statue set up in the entrance of the village, symbolize the fight(wrestling) of the people and which ends in the break of chains. This monument inaugurated May 22nd, 1998 marks hundred fiftieth birthday of the abolition of slavery. It is of use as witness to the memory and to the generations to come.
THE CACHE:
