—————————————————————————

I’m a woodpecker hunting on this old dead tree.

I can see water flowing on it’s way to the sea.

Lots of good food here, mine for the taking.

Lots of good places for small creatures hiding

Bats, birds, squirrels, snakes, insects and bees,

All find good hiding spots in these dead trees.

There’s a box down below me, I wonder what’s in it.

I’ll just have to wait for the next cacher’s visit.

——————————————————————————

From this cache site you can see moving water.  It is moving from left to right.  It may eventually reach the Mississippi River and maybe even the Gulf of Mexico.

The cache is hiding near a dead standing log called a snag.  Snags provide food for many little critters like beetles, ants and other bugs.  These then are food for other critters like birds.  Snags also make good hiding places for food for birds, and squirrels. and other wildlife.  Finally they provide homes and shelter for still other animals like squirrels, bats and birds.
