A Flash Mob gathering of Geocachers
lasting precisely 15 minutes,
at 6pm on Saturday 7 June 2014
in Kingsbury Square, Aylesbury.
A Flash Mob is a group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, do something unusual or just downright silly for a brief period of time, and then quickly disperse. This event is one of the hundreds of World Wide Flash Mob Events occurring simultaneously around the globe on the day, the eleventh such annual event. All registered attendees who subsequently submit an Attended log will receive an official Groundspeak Souvenir.
The published co-ords are for the water feature in Kingsbury Square, Aylesbury. Please arrive in good time, but mingle with the muggles and don’t reveal yourself as a geocacher until precisely 6pm when a duck will start quacking and you should assemble round the water feature.
As the name implies, the theme of this Flash Mob event for the third year running is DUCKS! Raid your bathroom or your toy box and bring your plastic toy ducks, which we will set afloat in the water feature once the event starts.
If you care to dress accordingly so much the better – wear webbed feet or a full duck costume, or wear a duck hat, or make a paper origami duck, or raise a duck umbrella. Use your imagination!
At 6.10pm there will be official group photographs, and at 6.15pm the duck will quack again, which will mark the end of the event. If you do not attend during the exact 15 minute period you will not be able to log as Attended - there will be an official log book in which you may make your mark of attendance. Please disperse quickly and quietly, taking your ducks with you, but as in the last two years some of us will be adjourning to a nearby pub (to be confirmed on the day) if you care to linger with other geocachers to chat and eat, or chat and drink, or just chat.
