Hi! I'm Bernie! Traditional Cache

Welcome to the beautiful Healing Gardens at the Department of Radiology on the campus of Michigan State University!

This year we would like to introduce you to Bernie and his wife Bernice.  Want to know how they got here?  They stumbled upon these gardens in 2009 while Bernie was having a scan at MSU Radiology.  They loved the gardens so much that they decided to make it their summer home!  Each summer either Bernie or Bernice travels to Europe to visit cousins, so you will only see one of them in the Healing Gardens at any given time.  They move indoors during the cooler months, during which time they enjoy writing letters to children who have sent them coloring pages. If you would like to receive a letter, see the back of the “SEEDS” magazine which can be found at the entrance to the Healing Gardens.

The cache is a small lock’n’lock container AND Bernie wants to invite you to sit with him for a while to read, rest, have a little chat…and to take a sticker from the cache and place it on his hat…..( He likes people to notice him.)  AND…even though Bernie and Bernice are enjoying the warmer indoor climate in the late fall through winter, the cache will still be available.  

***There will NEVER be any need to disturb a bedding area to retrieve and log a garden  cache.   All MSU garden caches are located along grassy or cement walks and sometimes might be under a shrub.  Please replace the cache as you found it!!

***A cache here will NEVER be located in a fake sprinkler, fake plant or fake lighting fixture. Caches are placed with the permission of the Healing Gardens staff, but will have to be removed if they are the cause of any damage. Thanks!  And we hope you enjoy your visit with Bernie!
