This cache has been archived.

Greatland Reviewer: Hello:

This cache page has been archived due to the lack of response to one or more prior Reviewer Note(s) about issue(s) with the cache and because the Cache Owner has not been online since October 2017. If the owner would like to have the cache unarchived, please contact me through my profile as soon as possible before another cache gets placed nearby.

Please note that unarchiving a cache page requires it to go through the same review process as a newly proposed cache, using the cache placement guidelines currently in effect.

Geocache Description:

This cache is 1 of  8 caches placed on public land units by the Fairbanks Alaska Public Lands Information Center as part of a summer-long event celebrating "Get Outdoors" Day.

This cache is located in the Quartz Lake State Recreation Area.

This cache is 1 of  8 caches placed on public land units by the Fairbanks Alaska Public Lands Information Center as part of a summer-long event celebrating "Get Outdoors" Day.  The event is entitled "Public Lands Geocache Pursuit."  If interested in participating in the entire series, please stop by the Alaska Public Lands Information Center located inside the Morris Thompson Cultural and Visitors Center in downtown Fairbanks and pick up the booklet that outlines all the activities and includes a page to collect the stamps from all 8 caches.  Summer office hours are Monday - Saturday 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Directions: Turn onto a three-mile long road at Milepost 277.8 of the Richardson Hwy.

The cache container is a "Bear Resistent Food Container."  You will need a coin or other tool to turn the screw to open the container.

Water is one of the basic components of habitat for people and for wildlife. Healthy fish habitats include pollution-free water, dissolved oxygen and good places to spawn, shelter and plenty of food to eat.

Explore the fascinating world of water and the aquatic habitat of Quartz Lake.  Use the tools in this cache to help you make an informal "Aquatic Assessment."
