This cache is on the north Meadows of Mustang Hills overlooking hwy 66 west of Bragg Creek.My recommended route starts at Rainy Pass in the pull out by the large story board at the parking co-ordinates given. The route to access the ridge top is the same for both new BVPete caches, this one and the White Camas cache ( Wildflower Series). There are some great views up here, so go and enjoy a couple of hours in this beautiful place. A 7 km hike with a 200 m elevation gain. DIRECTIONS
- PK - Park here and head to R1 across a meadow and open forest.
- R1 - Located on old forestry road, turn right.
- R2 - Turn left (up) off old road onto an old 4x4 trail, follow it to R3.
- R3 - Turn onto a well marked (blazes and flagging) single track trail. Follow this trail along the undulations of the ridge crest to R4.
- R4 The entrance to a well flagged trail that leads to the north meadows and cache. If you go for the White Camas cache first just stay on the main trail.
The cache is a small LnL hanging low in a spruce tree and does at this time contain 24 finders cards.
As always this is a hike in the woods over rough ground so come prepared with all required gear including bear spray. You also should not hike solo.
