JUST BECAUSE
- some of our caching friends are leaving the area. Let’s celebrate them.
- I’ve been wanting to organize an event to meet with and thank some of the cache owners who’ve brought a smile to my face.
- events are fun!
- I’ve been wanting to recreate the caching games I encountered during a visit to Texas, where I was welcomed by some super-friendly cachers . . .
Let’s meet at/on
- Saturday, June 7, 2014
- 1:00PM
- Locke-Paddon Park in Marina. It’s next to and around the Marina Public Library at 190 Seaside Circle, Marina, CA 93933. Road work in that general area has just been completed and it’s beautiful, shiny and new! There are restrooms and tables with benches, but they're not clustered together, so please bring chairs.
PLEASE BRING
- your trusty GPS device
- your picnic lunch
- something to sit on
- swag!
WHAT WE'LL BE DOING
- eating our picnic lunches
- enjoying each other’s company
- geocaching games the way I experienced them at a Texas geocaching event last year
GAMES
- Find the Evil Cache – a timed search
I’ll give you the coordinates and away you’ll go to find the gnarly cache. First to find wins. This will be a temporary cache, for today only.
- Find the Nice, Family-Friendly Cache.
Everyone who finds it wins, of course! This will also be a temporary cache, for today only.
- GPS Game
I’ll give you the coordinates and you’ll plant your flag where you think Ground Zero is. Whoever is closest to Ground Zero wins. This is a combination of luck and how accurate your GPS device is. It’s really fun!
How will you know where to go? Look for me! I'll be looking for you. I'm a black woman with big hair wearing a Yoda backpack! I will be checking my email every few minutes, so you can also shoot me a message. Please let me know you're coming. I look forward to talking with you!
