Down at the lower end of Bolton Percy you are only a few hundred metres away from the river Wharfe at Ulleskelf, which is still a tidal reach. Well maybe not exactly the seaside but not as inland as you might think. Looking around near the cache you will notice that as the land drains down towards the river it becomes marshy and cut by streams and drains. In fact the road down from the village regularly disappears under water but if the warning signs are up,you can turn left opposite the church and loop round to the right past the village green to approach ground zero from a different angle.
The ground near the cache can often be waterlogged, so please can you ensure that the log is well sealed in its plastic bag and that the container lid is on securely.
