This is the dreaded Florida hide, i.e. a cache hidden in the rough bark of a palm tree. There are three palms here, but we made it easy for you – look for the little owl peeking out. Please replace it this way for the next cacher to find. Our grandson taught us that looking from the side rather than straight on makes these caches easier to find.
Geocaching 101 Advice: These are nice neat palm trees. If you have any qualms about sticking your fingers into less desirable palm nooks and crannies, keep some gloves in your geocaching kit.
Talking about nice and neat brings up the issue of trash. Geocachers are good stewards for the environment. We never leave trash at a cache site and leave the area better than we found it.
