Congratulations! To qualify for this challenge cache, you must have found and logged 100 (or more) caches of any kind. Groundspeak makes easy to document this challenge. Your total cache finds on the day you log the find must be 100 or more. If you haven’t found 100 caches yet, post a note and log it as found once you have 100 caches. This is a big first milestone. If you like, please post a picture of yourself at the cache with that great big smile.
Geocaching 101 Advice: By now you have seen a variety of hides and are ready to put out some caches of your own. We learned our hide rules from Infinite MPG, a great cache owner in our area. Here they are:
- Geocacher safety
- Safe, off the road parking
- Avoid hiding caches in landscaped areas, including in bushes unless it is your own yard and you don’t mind having the area destroyed.
- Do not hide in a flood plain or other area vulnerable to weather events
- Avoid toxic plants, thorns, homeless camps and dangerous animals
- Seek permission as needed
- Look for interesting sites and place cool caches to earn favorite points, but only if they conform to rules 1-6.
Keep on caching and hope to see you on the road!
