This is #6 in a series of Letterboxes by Girl Scout Troop 8357 of Cross Lanes, WV. Bring your stamp for the Letterboxing Log!
Geocachers are welcome, HOWEVER, to claim a true FTF, you must stamp the log with your letterboxing stamp.
Description
#6 in the series is “Troop 8357 is Looking for a Dalmation”.
The cache is placed to represent the fourth part of the Girl Scout Law…”Courageous and Strong”. It reminds us to keep our body healthy and strong, learn to have a strong mind, be courageous and try new things, and to stand up to peer pressure and not be afraid to do the right thing.
Firemen need to be strong and courageous so we are placing this cache at a Fire Station that is now closed down but still used by the Charleston Fire Department for training and as a gym. Permission to hide the cache was granted by the Fire Department. Although the signs say parking is not permitted, as long as there is no one using the facility and not too many cars it is OK to park in the front of the building. There is also parking available near the rear of the building.
In letterboxing, you are supposed to use clues to help find the letterbox. If you have any questions about letterboxing and how it differs from geocaching, feel free to contact us. Letterboxing is a Brownie badge so we are trying to get more letterboxes in the area for local Brownies to find. Our clues will be simple so everyone can figure them out and the area Brownies can easily earn their badges.
Clue: Wood, Rocks, and Vines
Good Luck!
Travel Bug "Off to See the Wizard- Tin Man" was placed in this Letterbox.
STAMP and INK PAD are not swag! Please leave these items in the letterbox for Letterboxers to use with their letterboxing journals. Thank you!
