Find It PBGV and I scouted out the general location, and picked this area because of the proximity to some beautiful old sugar maples. I returned later and found that the opening to the hollow trees was not of sufficient size to contain the cache. At least not without a ladder!
So with the help of my two geodogs Rikki and Boomer, and the hindrance of my son's geodog Zaxou, I set about traipsing down the dirt road - or rather being dragged by Zaxou - balancing the geocache container on my shouder. Eventually I set the thing down in a traditional sort of spot and began the camouflaging process. But a deer waltzed past and turned Zaxou into a screaming maniac whose hysterics attracted the attention of the nearest resident, a good half-mile away, who was certain that I was murdering a dog in the woods.
So the original camo isn't perfect, but I hope that geocachers will conceal it even better over time.

I placed some toys for trading, and there is plenty of room for all sorts of additional swag.
Bear Swamp Road is in rough shape, but with a four wheel drive vehicle you can drive to within 150 feet of the cache, if you approach via Curtin Rd.. Or you can park at the intersection of Curtin Rd. and Bear Swamp and walk less than a mile to the cache. Don't attempt via Hartnett Rd., because Bear Swamp is washed out where it crosses a creek just south of its intersection with Curtin Rd. In drier weather you may be able to take Glen Haven Rd. to Bear Swamp but there were springtime puddles deep enough that I dared not cross.
