Old Mill Traditional Cache

This cache is one of the 20 geocaches hidden for the Canyon City-John Day Geocoin Post Kickoff Event for June 21, 2014.  Geocoins will be avilable to the first 100 cachers finding 15 of the 20 caches.  Geocoins are limited to one per family. Check owner log to determine if therer are remaining coins.

This mill, now closed, supported countless families for  many years when the logging industry was thriving.  Over its lifetime, the mill was owned by Hudspeth Lumber Company, San Juan Lumber Company, and most recently the John Day Lumber Company owned by D.R. Johnson.

The cache is located near the highway in an area where there is room to pull off the road safely,  It is a traditional cache with a log book and tradables.
