This cache has been archived.

barryandcindy: The fir tree that was the hiding place for this cache has been cut down as part of extensive fuel reduction measures. There is no other option for this small cache in the immediate vicinity. Bye Bye!
PS-while retrieving the cache container, I saw seven deer in the area.

Geocache Description:

This geocache will lead the intrepid hiker just a little off of a main trail loop in Shiloh Regional Park in Sonoma County.

FTF CONGRATULATIONS to Birdman!!!

In Sonoma County Regional Park's Shiloh Ranch Regional Park, at 5750 Faught Road, Windsor, CA, hiking the Creekside Trail to the vicinity of the ponds will put you within striking distance of the Three Bucks cache. This part of the park has a lot of wildlife. On the day I was collecting info for this cache, I found three large Blacktail Deer bucks a short distance away. They all had large antlers in velvet. Such an impressive sight required that I name the cache after them, thus this cache is now named for the "Three Bucks". The same morning I saw several other buck deer nearby, as well as two hen turkeys with their broods, and the resident Canada Geese and Mallards at the pond.

The cache container has changed due to conditions changing over the years. It is now a cammoed pill bottle hidden as a hanger up in the fir tree's remaining greenery.
