CAT: El teatre romà de Tarragona fou construït en època d’August, en les proximitats del Fòrum de la Colònia i de la zona portuària, aprofitant el fort desnivell del terreny per a recolzar-hi, en part, la graderia. Ha patit un grapat d'infortunis durant el s. XX que han destruït la major part del monument. Conserva restes de les tres parts fonamentals de l’edifici: cavea (graderia), orchestra (hemicicle al peu de la graderia) i scaena (l’espai escènic), així com algunes estructures, que formarien part d’un recinte lúdic annex.
CAST: El teatro romano de Tarragona fue constuido en época de Augusto, en las proximidades del Foro de la Colonia y de la zona portuaria, aprovechando el fuerte desnivel del terreno para situar, en parte, la gradería. Ha sufrido un seguido de infortunios durante el s. XX que han destuido la mayor parte del monumento. Conserva restos de las tres partes fundamentales del edificio: cavea (gradería), orchestra (hemiciclo al pie de la gradería) y scaena (el espacio escénico), así como algunas estructuras, que formarían parte de un recinto lúdico anexo.
ENG: The roman theatre of Tarragona was built in the time of Augustus in the area of the Colonial Forum and the port, the planners took advantage of the steep of the hill to build part of the seating. Despite much of it having been destroyed during the 20th century, the remains of three fundamental parts of the structure are still visible: the cavea (seating), the orchestra (the hemicycle at the foot of the seating) and the scaena (stage area), as well as some structures that would have been part of an adjoining leisure area.
