Why Man? Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Keystone: Greetings from Geocaching.com

I have been looking at caches in the area that have been temporarily disabled for a while now and it looks like your cache has been under the weather for some time. While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for you and block other cachers from entering the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time I don’t think we can do so any longer. Therefore, I have archived this cache.

If things change and it is time to have the cache reposted, it will be no problem. Just drop me a note and let me know the GC waypoint number of the cache or better yet, the URL of the cache page. You will still be able to access your cache page just as before by going to your “My Cache Page” and clicking the link of your cache.

I will be more than happy to take a look at your cache again to see if it is still is within the guidelines of the Geocaching.com website for cache placement and posting.

I want to thank you for the time that you have taken to contribute to geocaching in the past and am looking forward to seeing your cache up and running in the future.

Thanks for your understanding,

Keystone Approver
Geocaching.com admin.

Also, do not remove any admin notes as they aid other Geocaching.com admins if they need to work with your cache.

How Geocaching Works

Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer.

Geocache Description:

Multiple approach angles? Steep initial climb? Lots of winding trails? You betcha'! All in the heart of senic Grandview Heights!!! GPS coverage will be difficult as the trees continue to recover from our mild winter. Boots are probably in order and the trails will be very slippery after a rainy day.

Cache is a medium sized rubbermaid container. Initial contents include: "The Hobbit" paperback, matchbox bus, OSU Traffic and Parking Toolkit, eraser, State of Ohio patch, COTA LINK tokens, OSU business card holder, OSU Traffic and Parking hi-liter, COTA ID Cover

Please remember to sign and date the log and cover the cache as much as possible to ensure that the next cacher's search is as good as yours. This cache is about a mile from where I live, so I will look in on it frequently.

Happy hunting!!

7/25/02 - Cache maintenance time. Swapped the Rubbermaid for a small size ammo box with a Geocache sticker on the side. Swapped out the log book and added some items (Crew cup holder, keychain, 2-$1 gaming tokens and a Matchbox bus).

10/1/2002 - With the help of canbill, I swapped out the cache this afternoon. Last time that I checked on the cache I got to thinking that the ammo can probably wasn't the best choice for this area. The new cache is a four inch pyrex container. I didn't want to classify it as a micro, but if the first couple of people that find it think that it should be, please let me know.

Please take note of the way that the cache is hidden and try to hide it as well, if not better, than it is now This will help to preserve the integrity of caches that are hidden in (sub)urban parks like this one.

BusBoy supports treading lightly, trading up and trashing out!!
