The crew of the good ship Coshcoshbear would love to be sailing the seven seas to Piratemania in Cumbria but the distance be too far so instead we be holding a piratey picnic for any swashbucklers who also can't set sail to Cumbria and who would like to join us to search for treasure and gold!
Roughly translated: please bring a picnic (with optional rum!) and your pirate crew to the Millenium green in Piddlehinton at 12 noon on Sunday 27 July until 2pm. We would love to meet as many geocachers for an afternoon of piratey fun and games for cachers PIRATES young and old in honour of the events happening in Cumbria at the same time. Pirate fancy dress is encouraged!!! (But entirely optional)
Even though Piddlehinton isn't in East Dorset we've picked this as a location as the Dorset Drive by series runs right through the village and there are also a number of other fantastic caches in the area, plus this is such a lovely spot. There is a wonderful play area/fort for the younger cachers, and a stream runs through it for a spot of paddling
As we can't guarantee a dry and sunny day, we will have a back up plan of a nearby pub in the event of bad weather (please see additional waypoints and keep an eye on announcements for more info).
There will be a small raffle for those who wish to take part, to raise funds for the Millenium Green trust towards the upkeep of this beautiful area, we would like to thank the trust who have kindly allowed us permission to hold this event here.
Regretfully dogs aren't allowed on the Millenium green with the exception of registered assistance dogs.
