First off..........DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS CACHE ALONE!
ATTENTION, THERE IS NO CACHE AT THE LISTED COORDS. The only thing you will find there is an entrance into a cave.
The following instructions will lead you to the correct area in the cave where the cache is located. Once inside the correct room you will have to do some searching.
There is a short but steep descent to the cave from the parking coords.
Do not park on the highway for this cache. There is safe parking at the posted parking coords.
Depending on your route down to the cave from the parking coords, you may discover a different cave. Hopefully you won't discover it by accident, as it has a very steep drop into it's entrance, followed by a vertical drop into a chamber/passage below. This cave also has a ladder leading down into the bottom of it. This is not the cave you are seeking.
Once at the posted coords you should see an obvious opening that is approximately 10-12 feet wide. When facing this opening you will want to go ALL the way to the right side to start your short journey. If you go left you will find a very narrow opening that has a vertical drop of around 20' into another area of this cave. DON'T go there, stay right!
As you proceed your way in on the RIGHT you will QUICKLY encounter what may look like a dead end. Just look down at this point and you will see another opening down low.
You are now looking at part of the ceiling of the room where the cache is placed. Just slide on down through this hole into the "cache room".
Once in this room you will find that the cache is a very short crawl away.
The Glittering Caves was an immense, beautiful looking, heavily ore-filled, cave system that extended deep down into the White Mountains for many miles and consisted of many different paths, tunnels, and chambers. A small stream ran down through the The Narrows of Helm's Deep and into the caves and was its source of water. http://lotr.wikia.com/wiki/Glittering_Caves (Lord of the Rings) This is not near the specatular caves described by Tolkien but there is lots to see. Take a few minutes after scoring the smiley to look around a bit! BYOP, because I don't remember if we put one in there and a sense of adventure. Come find it. Have FUN!!!
