Geocache Description:

This multi cache is at Chatham Memorial Park. It is located east of Siler City on Hwy. 64. It IS a sad cemetery multi cache. If you don't like cemetery caches, you might want to pick another one somewhere else.

As I wandered through the cemetery, there were several tombstones that just stuck out from the others. Mostly because of their inscriptions. So enter the park, look over the awesome "Chatham County Veterans Wall", wander through the cemetery on the cement walkway, do a little planning to get the coords and head to the final RIP cache.

STAGE 1:  N 35 44.102 W 079 24.606

You are at the entrance to Chatham Memorial Park.

A = the last number of the date on the entrance sign
MINUS 2.

STAGE 2:  N 35 44.167 W 079 24.695

You are now at the Chatham County Veterans Wall
of Honor and Remembrance.
Locate Michael Joseph Dugan MD's plaque.
He was a Lt. Colonel Flight Surgeon.

Find the only two-digit number on the plaque.
Then add the two numbers together.
You will get another two-digit number.

B = 1st number of last two-digit number.

STAGE 3:  N 35 44.149 W 079 24.669

Now to finally enter the cemetery. If you look across the cemetery, you will see a walkway to a statue of "Jesus Christ". Take that walkway and when you get to GZ on the right, you will see a tombstone with the inscription on the bottom:

"HEART OF OUR HEART
OUR "MONIE LOVE"
WE WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU

Using numbers for months
(January = 1; February = 2;......;December = 12)

C = the number of the month of birth
PLUS the number of the month of death

STAGE 4:  N 35 44.142 W 079 24.672

Continue on the walkway. On the right of the walkway, with the statue on your left, you will see a tombstone that has the inscription at the bottom: "ALWAYS IN OUR HEARTS". On the top of the tombstone are two sets of bats/ball with a picture in the middle of them. On the left of the tombstone, there is a small cement square that says
"AN AWESOME BASEBALL PLAYER LIVES HERE"

D = the last number of his birth year PLUS 2.

STAGE 5:  N 35 44.128 W 079 24.666

This is the only one that I did have to leave the walkway to get to. When I spotted it, I knew it was special. It had a big vase of flowers, with a stuffed rabbit hanging down. There are two little hands between the dates. You do not have to go far off the walkway. It is in the second row on left of walkway.

E = the second number in the year of birth (and death).

STAGE 6: N 35 44.162 w 079 24.665

Heading back on the walkway and around the "Jesus Christ" statue continue to GZ. This one is on the right and you will know it is the right one when you see it. It has the inscription on top
"IN LOVING MEMORY"
and a valentine heart between the two dates.

F = number of letters in his last name MINUS 5.

THE FINAL:  N 35 44.ABC W 079 24.DEF

The final RIP container is NOT located in the cemetery at or around any tombstones, but is located on the property. Since you park near the Chatham County Veterans Wall when you park on entering, you can drive close to the RIP cache and then take a little walk for final.
