The Challenge
In order to log this cache you must find 15 geocaches that are:
* Located on an island. For the purposes of this Challenge, the definition of an island - leave one piece of land, transport yourself across a body of water via a self propelled vessel such as a dinghy/kayak/canoe (swimming is acceptable as is motorized personal watercraft), land your vessel on another piece of land that is totally surrounded by water (i.e. an island), and find a cache. For the purposes of this Challenge Vancouver Island is not a valid island. Caches located in water attached to buoys/logs do not count (e.g. GC44Q24 Float Your Boat). Caches on land (non-islands) that you need to cross water to get to do not count (e.g. GC1G195 Brentwood Bay Lighthouse).
* Have a Terrain rating of 5.
* Have the "boat required" attribute. Again, the intent is that you self propel yourself via dinghy/kayak/canoe, and not by reaching an island via ferry (swimming or motorized personal watercrafts are acceptable).
The intent of this cache is to get people out exploring some nearby islands that are typically only accessible via self-propelled vessels (e.g. dinghies, kayaks, canoes). For your reference, we've included a list of 25 caches that would qualify for this challenge (we've completed all 25 of them - 14 via the use of our geo-dinghy, 6 via geo-kayak, 2 via powerboat, and 3 swimming). Most of these caches are located on lakes around the Victoria/Shawnigan area however some are located in salt water but are within a few hundred meters of land. You can claim finds other than the islands listed but they need to meet the Challenge criteria. One additional rule - you're not allowed to count any caches that you own. We reserve the right to delete any entries that don't meet the Challenge criteria. None of these caches are overly hard to get to however the difficulty rating is based on the fact that you'll need specialized equipment; you'll need to research launch sites and get your equipment there; and you'll need to plan for the elements (e.g. wind, tide, etc). Please be cautious when seeking any of these caches - rocks can be slippery and sharp (especially the ocean based islands), always wear a proper PFD, and research the weather/tides! Once you meet the requirements of this Challenge and you've found this cache you can then log the find online - please list (either in your log or in a Bookmark) the 15 or more qualifying caches that you've found.

This cache is located on an island approximately 200m offshore from Tower Point at Witty's Lagoon Regional Park. We've included a waypoint for the beach that we launched the geo-dinghy from (there's a small but steep slope you need to traverse down to the beach). There is also access at the end of Bradene Road but that would require adequate tides in order to exit the lagoon and it would also be a longer trip to travel around the corner to Tower Point. To get to the island you'll need to travel in between Tower Point and the island that Plantman Geocache#10 is located on. The island is home to many inhabitants including various birds, seals, and sea otters. It's a wonderful location with a beautiful view and it's an ideal spot for a picnic lunch. As always, please be gentle on the environment and cache safely!
