One of my favorites is the linear-leaf sundew. Minnesota is one of the few places where this plant is native and it is unique in its ability to tolerate soils that are toxic to other sundews.

My son loves geocaching and the television show Dinosaur Train, so he was thrilled when we found the Dinosaur Train GeoTour (http://www.geocaching.com/adventures/geotours/dinosaurtrain).  

Unfortunately, there were no Dinosaur Train caches in Rochester, so we decided to rectify the situation (http://www.pbs.org/parents/dinosaurtrain/more-dinosaur-train-fun/geocaching-challenge/create-your-own-geocache/).
