Geocache Description:

Golden Nugget 1946-

The Golden Nugget was originally built in 1946 making it one of the oldest casinos in the city.  In 1977 Steve Wynn opened the first hotel tower and the resort earned its first four diamond rating from Mobil Travel Guide. It was the foundation for Wynn's rise to prominence in the casino industry.

This is cache number 24 in a series of 41 caches that have been placed along a 20 mile stretch of the Sal Sagev NCN7 Strip.

You are on NCN Cycle Route 7 which passes through two National Parks - Loch Lomond & The Trossachs and Cairngorms. The route leaves Glasgow and heads to Inverness via Aberfoyle, Callander, Killin, Pitlochry, Kingussie, Aviemore and Carrbridge.

You are also on The Rob Roy Way, a seven day walk across the Southern Highlands of Scotland taking in some of the most beautiful countryside in the UK. Starting from Drymen it goes north east to finish in Pitlochry.

There is a BBC Railway Walks DVD with Julia Bradbury.  Episode 6 "Gateway to the Highlands" features the Callander to Killin Railway line.

Consider uploading a photo or awarding a fave point along the way.
