Geocache Description:

Welcome to Babe Nicklous Pool Park. The park is named for long term employee Babe Nicklous who worked for the district for over 30 years among his many achievements Babe helped in the planning and development of over 18 parks. Babe was born in Newberg in 1933 and attended Newberg Union High graduating in 1952. He served his country as crew chief for F89 jet fighters in the United States Air Force. Returning home to Newberg in 1956 to begin civilian life.

The Bicentennial Tree is by the badminton court.  The court is clearly a game of past times and past life in Newberg.  It looks like something from the show "Life after People" in which often things are taken over by plants and mostly Ivy.  Don't worry it's not the poisonous kind.  From the Bicentennial Tree go one tree over where this marks the location of one pole for the net, follow the vector of the net for the location of the cache.

I can imagine that after a nice summer game of Badminton in times past it would be nice to sit beneath a tree and have a nice sandwich.

This one will not be a piece of cake but it will be peanut butter and jelly time.
