Geocache Description:

This is a small cache located in the Lakeland Highlands Scrub about .6-mile hike from the trail head.

This is a 551-site with a .6-mile shady trail & a 2.2-mile multi-use trail. The area is made of Scrubby Flatwoods, Marsh area with a boardwalk over it and lots of sugar sand. Lakeland Highlands Scrub contains one of the largest undeveloped scrub communities on the Lakeland Ridge. Many years ago the area was covered with water and now rises more than 230 feet above sea level. There are several kinds of wild life, wild flowers, trees and plants to see. As in all areas where wild life is present, please aware of your surrounding, as some could be dangerous. Please take nothing but pictures and leave nothing but foot prints. Amenities are a parking & picnic areas, portable restroom, but no water. Be sure to take plenty of water with you, sunscreen and bug spray as it can be very hot out in the sugar sand along the 2.2-mile trail. This a small cache located across the boardwalk and down the trail to the right. It room for some very small trade items and be sure to BYOP. "Congratulations to Rhonda H-MI for FTF ever."
