A cache placed to take you out to see a unique area at the southernmost section of Hartman Creek State Park. The Emmons Creek Barrens State Natural Area. Enjoy the lands as you hike along a section of the Ice Age National Scenic Trail to this cache.
This cache is not located on the State Natural Area land, but it is near the SNA along the Ice Age National Scenic Trail in Hartman Creek State Park. HCSP has well over 30 great caches located on the lands but none this far south along the IAT. There are two sections of the ECB SNA land located where the Emmons Creek Fishery Area lands to the south join with the HCSP lands to the north. The Ice Age Trails winds through all three of these great areas. The cache can be found by parking along Emmons Creek Road to the south and hiking the IAT north or you can hike the IAT south from HCSP. You could also bike on the designated bike trails south from HCSP - please note that bikes and horses are NOT allowed on the IAT. Both the Fishery Area land and HCSP allow hunting in season - please see the attached link to view more details of all of these areas. Please respect and enjoy all of the great areas. I am leaving a new FTF trackable tag as a reward for the FTF cacher(s). I am also dropping my own new trackable, H3's USA Bug n Bracelet, to start it on its journeys. The Black Bear picture was taken just after I had hidden the cache - about 300 yards southwest of the cache along the IAT - I hope it didn't make the FTF after it ran off!
