The Yi Garden is beautiful place to enjoy nature. Stroll along the pathways and watch the fish and turtles swimming in the water, listen to the frogs croaking (sometimes deafeningly), and see several different kinds of birds flitting back and forth.
And play a game of GO... On the side of the main path there quite a few signs (all in Chinese) telling about the game of Go. You can learn some strategic moves, get acquainted with some famous GO players, and follow move-for-move some famous GO games (one I read about lasted three months). There is also a pavilion in the garden that has a table, a GO game board, and the black and white chips you need so that you and a friend can play a game together, if you have time.
Yi Garden is only open between 6 AM and 6 PM. After coming through the main NTHU gate on Guang-fu Road, walk or drive straight through campus until you come to the Yi Garden Parking Lot on the right. If you need more detailed directions, check out the map of the campus posted here: http://campusmap.cc.nthu.edu.tw/#
