This cache is part of a Geo-Trail located in Wilderness State Park. A Recreation Passport is required on your vehicle to enter the park: $17/year for Michigan registered vehicles $34/year or $9/day for Non-Michigan registered vehicles Sturgeon Bay is home to Wilderness’s parabolic dunes. These dunes are distinctive with their U-Shape and are often called a "blowout". Parabolic dunes happen when the sand is exposed to wind, which is one of the ways sand is moved and dunes are formed. On the ridges of these dunes Marram grass is present on the foredune Pitcher’s Thistle, Willow, Silverweed and Huron Tansy can be found.
