This cache is hidden in the Lost Coast, one of the most remote and most beautiful places in California. The drive down to this location is not for those who dislike narrow, windy roads, or for those who are looking for a quick park and grab. The terrain rating reflects the difficulty of just getting to this general area.
One day I hiked from the Mattole Beach Campground to the Punta Gorda Lighthouse. When I put my backpack down in the corner, I spotted something someone left behind that I thought could be recycled into a geocache. This is my very first geocache so I don't want to just hide one down the street from where I live.
The cache is hidden in a manner familiar to experienced geocachers, the challenge will be getting here in the first place. Please rehide carefully. BYOP.
