The Gut of What ? is the name for this traditional geocache placed in "The Gut Conservation Area". The Crowe River passes through a 250 metre long gorge at this area. At one time the river was used to transport logs down to sawmills in Marmora. The unusual name could refer to the narrowing of the river at this location. The Crowe River has a drainage of 2000 square kilometres (800 sq miles). By the time the waters of the Crowe River have finally reached Lake Ontario, they will have passed through 7 different townships. This geocache, however, is not placed near the river or the crow. Please maintain the container as needed since this geocache is in a remote area. If you were brave enough to make the journey to, what I call, "The End of the World", then please take some extra time to ensure the geocache here at "The Gut" survives and is in good condition for the next brave seeker.
