Geocache Description:

2014 is the year we celebrate our Island of Culture through dance, music, theatre, the visual arts, literature, cultural festivals, film, digital innovation and now geocaching! As part of this celebration Isle of Man Schools have created this geocache which will encourage cachers to travel around the Island visiting monuments, plaques, memorials and places that are often overlooked when on your travels! You will visit places of interest located close to every primary school and will be required to answer a question and record your answer on the downloadable answer sheet. The question and answer sheet are both downloadable and are required to unlock the cache! Each stage should be easy finds.

Once you have answered all the questions you will need to head to the listed coordinates, the Exploratorium in the Manx Museum, where you will find a safe with instructions on how to open it!
The museum opening times are available here

The question and answer sheets are in the gallery, which can be printed for use.

As part of this unique geocache 100 geocoins have been created and each primary school has been assigned coins which all have certain missions to complete, whilst also competing on who can travel the furthest!

The art work on the coins was created by Mary Podmore and Savannah Gunnell, students from Castle Rushen High School and produced courtesy of a generous donation.

A special thanks to all the class teachers and Head Teachers that took time to participate in the setting of the clues with their class pupils.

Please note that for schools 20-Victoria Road and 25-Michael the actual location is situated in a public place but within the school grounds. If you find yourself looking during school hours although permission has been given by the Head Teachers of both schools should you feel uncomfortable please ask in the school office to make yourself and your purpose clear. Outside of school hours access shouldn't be a problem.

For school 11-Kewaigue a bit of research using geocaching maps will help you out.

If you don't fancy the climb at number 27-Sulby a bit of web research will provide the answer.
