This Geocache is located in the Karlstad city park. The park is very kid friendly with a playground and large spacious areas. The park also includes two points of interest. The first is the moose located near US highway 59 that runs through the city. The Moose has been in the park since Karlstad was appointed Moose Capital of the North. At that time, moose were extremely common in the area and could be found at any time of day moving around in the countryside. In the 90's, a disease swept through the herd of moose causing almost all the moose to die. Today, sighting a moose is quite rare. The second point of interest is a red roofed eating area. The roof came from the old water tower which resembled much of the water towers in rural Minnesota.
This cache is our first hide and has underwent a few changes in order to stay a geocache. This cache is only a log at this time, please bring your own pencil.
