O miejscu:
Pośrodku tak zwanej Jaśkowej Łąki (Jäschken Wiese), która z kolei położona jest w Jaśkowej Dolinie (Jäschkenthal), rośnie rozłożysty dąb, a dokładnie dąb bezszypułkowy (łac. Quercus petrea). Nie rośnie on tu przypadkowo. Świadczy o tym kamień ustawiony obok drzewa. Upamiętnia on datę uroczystego zasadzenia dębu. Wyryta jest na nim inskrypcja: „Gepflanzt am 18 Octbr. 1863”. Wskazuje ona, że dąb został zasadzony w 1863 r, według wszelkiego prawdopodobieństwa w 50 rocznicę zwycięstwa nad wojskami Napoleona w „Bitwie Narodów” (niem. Völkerschlacht) pod Lipskiem stoczonej 18 października 1813. W 1863 roku w wielu niemieckich miastach uczczono tę rocznicę wznosząc mauzolea, pomniki i obeliski. W Gdańsku dąb posadzili uczniowie gdańskiego Gimnazjum Akademickiego.
Ciekawostki:
Jaśkowa Łąka była centralnym miejscem festynów świętojańskich urządzanych w tym miejscu dla uczczenia patrona Jana Labesa – senatora napoleońskiego Wolnego Miasta Gdańska, który po nabyciu na przełomie XVIII i XIX w. Jaśkowej Doliny i otaczających ją wzgórz udostępnił teren społeczności Miasta. Z czasem, nieopodal dębu funkcjonowały też korty tenisowe.

In the middle of the so called Jaśkowa Meadow (Jäschken Wiese), which in turn is located in Jaśkowa Valley (Jäschkenthal), grows large oak, sessile oak (Latin: Quercus petrea). It does not grow here accidentally. Evidence of this is stone set next to a tree. It commemorates the date of the ceremonial planting of oak. There is inscription engraved on it:"Gepflanzt am 18 Octbr. 1863”. It shows that the oak tree was planted in 1863, in all likelihood, the 50th anniversary of the victory over Napoleon's army in the "Battle of the Nations" (German: Völkerschlacht) at Leipzig, fought on 18 October 1813. In 1863, in many cities of the Reich celebrated this anniversary erecting mausoleums, monuments and obelisks. Oak seated students of Academic Gymnasium.

Jaśkowa Meadow was the central place of midsummer festivals organized in this place to celebrate the patron John Labes - Senator Napoleonic Free City of Danzig, which after the acquisition of the late eighteenth and early nineteenth century Jaśkowa Valley and the surrounding hills shared it to community of City. Eiche auf Jäschken Wiese
Über die Seite:
In der Mitte Jäschken Wiese, die wiederum in Jäschkenthal befindet, wächst großen eine Eiche, Traubeneiche und (lateinisch: Quercus petrea). Es ist nicht zufällig hier zu wachsen. Ein Beweis dafür ist der Stein neben diesem Baum. Es erinnert an den Tag der feierlichen Pflanzung von Eiche. Es gibt Inschrift eingraviert: "Gepflanzt am 18 Octbr. 1863". Es zeigt, dass die Eiche wurde 1863 gepflanzt, aller Wahrscheinlichkeit nach, dem 50 Jahrestag des Sieges über Napoleons Armee in der Völkerschlacht in Leipzig, wo pekenpof wurde auf 18 Oktober 1813. 1863 in vielen Städten des Reiches wirddieses Jubiläum gefeiert Errichtung Mausoleen, Denkmälern und Obelisken. Eiche sitzen Studenten der Akademischen Gymnasium.
Wissenswertes:
Jäschken Wiese war der zentrale Ort der Hochsommer-Festivals, um den Patron John Labes zu feiern - Senator der napoleonischen Freien Stadt Danzig, die nach der Übernahme des späten achtzehnten und frühen neunzehnten Jahrhundert. Jäschkenthal und die umliegenden Hügel gab er um Gemeinschaft der Stand. In einer Zeit, in der Nähe von Eichen funktioniert Tennisplätze.
