[ENG] Old folk say, that this pine was to be cut down for Laekvere mill´s headshaft, but wood´s owner didn´t allow it. Now this beauty grows by Kõrve road. I measured also the girth of the pine, which was 3,35 m. This is 14th pine from the grith in Estonia.
[EST] Pärimuse järgi olevat seda mändi tahetud langetada Laekvere veski emapuu ehk peavõlli tarbeks. Metsaomanik Bahhmann aga polevat lubanud. Nüüd kasvabki see suur ja jäme iludus Kõrve tee ääres. Mõõtsin ka puu ümbermõõdu mis on 3.35m, see on Eestis 14. mänd ümbermõõdult.
