Geocache Description:

Enjoy splendid views of the Vale of Evesham from the Snowshill Manor estate, which Charles Wade bought to house his collection. The cache is on National Trust land, but can be accessed at any time from the public footpath.

NB:The cache is not hidden around the irrigation equipment near to the coordinates.

Charles Paget Wade was an architect and an artist, with a passion for good design and craftsmanship. At the age of 7 he was inspired to begin collecting by his Grandmother's cabinet, which contained many small, crafted items that would have been fascinating to a small boy. He purchased nearby Snowshill Manor in 1919 to house his growing collection and entertain his friends. His habit lasted a lifetime and he eventually amassed a total of around 22000 items.

The cache is situated just outside the picturesque village of Snowshill, which is in a beautiful Gloucestershire Cotswold valley above the attractive market town of Broadway. The setting is a perfect place for you to stop and admire the view of the vale.

We hope that Mr Wade would have liked our choice of container and that you will enjoy finding it!

This cache is place by kind permission of the National Trust at Snowshill Manor.
