Skookum Bear: Cache Owner,

As you have not indicated that you have visited your cache location to replace it if it was missing, perform needed maintenance, or verify that it is still there within a reasonable amount of time, I am regretfully archiving the cache to clear it from the active cache database and open the area to new caching opportunities.

Please do not respond to this note by sending an email reply - your response will go to an unmonitored location and disappear into the ether instead of being sent to me. If you need to contact me regarding this cache, please do so using the link on my Profile Page

Thank you for your contribution to geocaching.

Geocache Description:

This geocache is located in the Acropolis Hill area of Prince Rupert. During World War II the US built a military base here that housed 3500 soldiers and civilian workers. Prince Rupert became an important link for supply lines to Alaska and the Pacific front. It now is home to Roosevelt Elementary School and a few parks. Check out the totem poles in the area while you're here.

The area in which this geocache is hidden reminds me of a Tolkienesque scene. It lasts for only a few steps but when you approach it it feels as if you've found the hidden path into Mordor. The cache itself is a small plastic container suitable for trade items. Gift Certificate for The Argosy for FTF.
