P.D.B. Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

spooko13: Sorry for the delay, Sapience Trek. I kept going back and forth on whether or not to archive this one or get it back up and running again. In the end I think it's run it's course, so the time has come to say goodbye to P.D.B. Maybe he'll turn up again someday, bigger and better than ever!

A big thanks to all those that stopped by for a visit and for the favorite points it's received! Much appreciated! :)

Geocache Description:

I had stumbled onto something while I was out and about a week ago and thought it might work as a cache container. It would really stick out like a sore thumb...a 1 star difficulty for sure. I had also stumbled onto the fact that there seems to be a shortage of this particular D/T combination in the immediate area. Those two things were married and this cache was born. This should help fill that void in the D/T grid for those that need it and hopefully be a fun cache for those that don't.

In an effort to make the difficulty a true 1 star, I have included pictures of GZ below.  Please study them carefully. This should not be a difficult hide for anyone, but signals can be bouncy in the woods and I want there to be absolutely no question as to where you are heading or looking.

This is GZ. Concentrate on those two downed trees in the center of the picture, specifically the left hand side.

This is the hiding spot. Again, it's on the left hand side as you approach the trees.

There will be no mistaking the container once you see it. It has not been camouflaged (except for being covered with a branch or two) and chances are you haven't seen one of these in the woods...at least not recently.  All I'll say is that it's something I found at an antique store and thought it would make a good cache container.

There is room for two or three cars at the trailhead coordinates. Alternate parking is in a large lot just down the road.

Oh...and one more thing. A certain portion of the trail will take you close to the edge of the hill and a fairly steep drop off. I had no problem hiking along this section when I placed the cache, although I can certainly see it being tougher to navigate if it's wet. PLEASE USE CAUTION, especially if we've recently had some rain.

Congratulations to hjathome for being the FTF!
