Geocache Description:

This cache is hidden in the Carpenter's Marsh State Wildlife Management Area.  Although no trails exist, this spot can be great for viewing waterfowl and other wildlife (it seems like people rarely come here).  The cache is an old pill container, poorly camoflaged. Terrain is rated for the second parking area.

Getting There:

Driving down Depot Rd in Hancock the entrance (not marked) to the area will be on the left, shortly after the road makes a sharp left turn.  There are three options for getting to the cache from the road:

Parking 1: Park at the entrance, which is simply what looks like a rocky old logging road  going up a steep hill.  This is best if you drive a sedan or want a longer walk.  Distance to the cache from here is 0.58 miles.

Parking 2: Here there is a grassy space for a few cars to park.  The hill going up from the road is the worst part of this section of road. Once you make it up go slow and watch for large rocks.  This is best for SUVs and pickup trucks.  Distance to the cache from here is 0.38 miles.

Parking 3: There is more parking at the cache coordinates.  However, the last section of access road has many mud puddles (up to 4 inches deep when I was there) and large rocks.  This is best for Jeeps and other high clearance vehicles.  Distance to the cache from here is a few feet.
