My husband and son are both Eagle Scouts and the road to this lofty achievement is not easy. It takes years of hard work and dedication from the scouts, their families and also their leaders. I completed this challenge for a cache in Texas several years ago mainly because of Scouting related hides in and around Tuscaloosa. I have wanted to place this cache for a very long time and knew exactly where I wanted to hide it. I've driven by here countless times but never had time to stop. I was roaming today and found myself half way here and thought there is no better time than the present. So...
To honor scouts everywhere, I present you this geocaching challenge:
To complete this challenge you need have found 25 caches that have scouting (Boy, Cub or Girl Scouting) as their theme in the title.
Simple rules:
1. The theme or word has to be mentioned in the title, and it has to be associated with scouting (not scouting for caches or being prepared to go caching etc.).
The intent is the caches be related to Scouting -- Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, etc. Any cache identified in the title as being placed by a troop / den / pack / district / council / etc. counts. There are lots of these all over the state but particularly in the area this cache is placed. There are also numerous series that are directly related to scouting that count -- such as Cache to Eagle, scouting 'words' (such as promise, pledge, law, motto, scouting values, scouting awards, etc.).
2. Events do not count for this challenge. Nor does this cache count for one of the 25.
3. Past finds do count for this challenge.
4. Finds can be made in any location.
5. You must list your caches in your log or bookmark them with the following format:
GC -- Title -- Date Found
5. You can sign the log for this challenge at any time and log a 'note' to the cache page, mentioning you signed the log. But you may not log a find until you have completed the requirements (this way you don't have to go back to sign after you complete the requirements!). Once you complete the requirements, edit your log, change it to found, and change the find date to the date you completed the requirements and list the required information.
Good luck, and be prepared!
