[ITA] Fener è l'abitato più meridionale del comune di Alano di Piave, nonché dell'intera provincia di Belluno. Della chiesa parrocchiale del paese non si conosce l'origine; il culto dell'arcangelo Michele, diffuso in Italia dai Bizantini e particolarmente sentito dai Longobardi, potrebbe comunque attestarne l'antica fondazione.
Note storiche attestano la presenza di una chiesa sul posto già nel 1373, che viene descritta come in pessime condizioni durante la visita pastorale del vescovo Pietro Barozzi nel 1488; l'edificio venne ricostruito nel 1559 e dichiarato parrocchia autonoma nel 1587.
Dopo la prima guerra mondiale l'edificio, semidistrutto per la permanenza del fronte lungo il Piave nel 1917-1918, venne ricostruito a cura del Commissariato delle Terre Liberate ed ultimato nel 1930.
[ENG] Fener is the southernmost town of the municipality of Alano di Piave, as well as of the entire Belluno province. The origin of the parish church is not know; the cult of Archangel Michael, widespread in Italy Byzantines, may however attest its ancient foundation.
Historical notes attest to the presence of a church in the site in 1373; the building is described as in poor condition during the pastoral visit of Bishop Pietro Barozzi in 1488, and was then rebuilt in 1559. It was declared an independent parish in 1587.
After the First World War the building, partially destroyed by the permanence of the front along Piave river in 1917-1918, was rebuilt by the Commissioner for Liberate Lands and completed in 1930.
