How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

A short track leading to the viewing platform overlooking the beach, where you can view the local penguins arrive each night. This area is leased at dusk for the penguin tours, but at all other times it is available free of charge. Strictly No dogs though. The cache is hidden away from any penguin burrows so don't go sticking your hand down them.

Growing up we use to come here during the day and shell hunt (cowries and painted ladies were our shell of choice) and look to see what sea life we could find hiding in the rock pools.

While your here take a stroll along the beach and see what shells you can find washed up (you never know you may find a shark egg washed up) or see what unusual sea life you can find in the rock pools - keep a eye out for blue ringed octopuses though!).

If you caching in winter I suggest rugging up for the cache.

The walking track down is also on farm land and some days there may be sheep in the paddock, they will run away from you, but please don't chase/annoy them. Makes the experience more exciting for kids as well.

Please close the gate behind you as you enter and leave.

Cache contains a logbook, pen and a few small interesting swaps for the kiddies..

FTF Special Mention goes "Lizziejj" :)
