This Multi will take you on a short journey around 3 new pieces of artwork and the re-used Portland Stone plaque that originaly stood at the Mercery / Dorchester Road junction. The whole circuit is less than 1 mile and should take about 30 minutes to complete. The actual cache is close to the final clue location. There is ample parking in the local supermarket car park.
The official unveiling was on Wednesday 16th July 2014 by 'Antiques Roadshow' expert Paul Atterbury and Weymouth Mayor Kate Wheller.
Stage 1 - TORPEDOSAUR N50.38.110 W002.27.529 (Starting location)
This design reflects the Jurassic Coast history, combined with the Whitehead torpedo factory legacy. The body of 'Torpedosaur' has been constructed from real torpedo casings. The throne reflects King George III's love of the town as a holiday destination.

Stage 3 - RE - USING THE PORTLAND STONE PLAQUE N50.38.017 W002.27.691
After removal, the decision was made to gift the stone back to the college from where it originated. A competition was ran with Weymouth schools for designs of new wall plaques. The brief was simple - to design something which represents the local area. The designs were given to local collage stonemason Pete Louzou who helped his students create some beautiful works of art. These are now on display at this location.

This sculpture has etched into its surface, designs by local illustrator 'Kate Rewse'. The wheels are resonant of those that can be seen on King George III's bathing machine near the kings statue in the town. You will need to look closely into the mirror to find the clue !
