In the late 19th/early 20th century, Shaftesbury House was a Lunatic Asylum housing 34 patients, but more recently it was an Approved School, then a Community Home for Boys, called St Vincent's, run by Catholic Social Services, later Nugent Care. The grounds of this now demolished Victorian Gothic mansion are still a mass of Bluebells in Spring - perhaps why the new estate is called Harebell Close!

This small cache tried to be magnetic, but 2 magnets would not hold it to the old cast-iron fittings! It has burrowed beneath a stone instead, for fear of muggles!
