The paved portion of the Kettles and Rhododendron trails parallel Highway 20. The caches in this series are NOT ACCESSIBLE from the highway. You may be tempted but for YOUR SAFETY please do not stop on or attempt to access from the highway. It is VERBOTEN and also unnecessary. All caches except one on the unpaved portion of the Kettles trail and one (this one) on Rhododendron Park Road are three steps or less off the trail. Parking coordinates are provided below for both ends of the trail. Also there are several cross streets that provide mid-trail access with parking for one or two vehicles.
As always bring a pen and hide the cache as well as or better than you found it. This series is all about the numbers, the exercise and the scenic views. Caches are log-only and the hides are straightforward with the exception of one or two. Experienced cachers will have no problem with the finds. However, in summer there tend to be pricklies about. Gloves and long sleeves would be useful then.
Enjoy your experience along the trails.
