The NYCU School of Hakka Studies started in 2004 at the main NYCU campus in Hsinchu. In 2010, this school moved to its current location. The main building is new and built to resemble a traditional Hakka round house (圓樓). Other old Chinese-style buildings dot this campus and are worth a walk around when you come for the cache. Some of them are still being used for offices or other purposes but others are fenced off and covered with metal roofs to preserve them. If you are interested in reading about Hakka culture, check out the library on the 3rd floor of the main building. Isn't it great that there are educational institutions like this that provide opportunities to learn about and do research about different ethnic groups and their culture?
The cache is a small disguised plastic container. Please be gentle with it so that it doesn't break. You will need to bring your own pen. Feel free to post pics of the log but please do not post pics of the cache container.
