To celebrate Geocaching.com’s 7 Souvenirs of August, I will be hosting a total of 8 Souvenir Events. This kickoff event, 1 for each Geocaching Personality Type (GPT) and 1 for Achieving all 7 Souvenirs. At each GPT event, I will be having a drawing for a trackable tag that coincides with the event. The purpose of these raffles is to reward someone for having found out what type of geocacher they are, and for going out and getting the souvenir to prove it. Because this is the purpose, tickets for each of the GPT raffles will be handed out as such:
1 Ticket at the kickoff event for each person who has completed the Geocaching Personality Type quiz and logs what type they are in the official event log (ticket to be placed in that GPT event container)
1 Ticket for attending the GPT event that matches your geocaching type
1 Ticket if you’ve already earned the Souvenir for your geocaching type at the time of the GPT event.
Essentially what this means is that you will have up to 3 chances in the GPT raffle that matches your personality, and you are only able to enter the raffle that matches your GPT.
EXAMPLE: I am a Socializer (no surprise there!) so I would log on the official log that I’m a Socializer, put my ticket in the Socializer container, then attend the Socializer event and receive two more tickets (one for the event matching my personality, and one for getting the Socializer Souvenir).
The Achiever tag will be handed out at the last event, where everyone in attendance who has achieved all 6 souvenirs will receive a ticket for that raffle.
So, hurry now and go find out what type of Geocacher you are and make sure to write it down. Then plan to come to at least that event…..and as many more of them as you care to have fun with! It’s going to be a fun, adventurous and exciting August for geocachers!
