UPDATE: SEPT. 10 2002: At this time the geoquilt project is currently coming to an end seeing as the squares have been removed and are on their way to DxChallenged to be sewn into the quilt. Rather than archive this cache we've decided to leave it in place for others to find/log as a traditional cache. Thanks to everyone for getting involved......the finished quilt should look great. Standy for future pics, updates, etc...
Cheers, 300Mag & cliffy :)
It's Geoquilt time again! But this time it's a uniquely Canadian experience!! A thread discussing the topic in the forums can be read here
For those of you not familiar with the original Geoquilt project the idea is simple. Fellow cacher DxChallenged from Akron NY has provided 300Mag and I with 100's of individual quilt squares to be distributed throughout Canada in various
caches. Once the squares are all signed they will be shipped back to Dxchallenged at which time they will be stitched together into a masterpiece......"the Canadian Geoquilt".
This particular cache can be reached easily by specific trails. If you pick the right one you'll only endure an easy 50m bushwhack towards the end. Pick the wrong one and things might get a bit trickier;) We tried to make this cache as accessible as possible seeing as we want to give everyone a chance to immortalize themselves on the quilt.
The cache is the standard "camo'd ala cliffy tube®" you've all come to know and expect(lol) nestled vertically amongst a cluster of Maple trees. At the time of placement it included a few miscellaneous dollar store treasures but most importantly 20 quilt squares and a black fabric marker.
Instructions for signing the squares:
Inside a medium sized ziplock you'll find 3 regular sized ziplocks.
- In one you'll find the squares.
- In the second is the fabric marker. It was ziplocked to protect the squares in case of leakage.
- The third ziplock is to place your SIGNED square into. When all the squares are signed I'll retrieve this bag and send it back to DxChallenged
Alternatively you can elect to bring your square home and sign it at your leisure......just be sure to use a BLACK fabric marker. If you choose this method e-mail 300Mag for the return address. One important thing you'll note on each square is a penciled in border....Sign only inside this border on the "non-red" section of the square as anything outside this border will be non-visible once the edges are folded over and stitched into the quilt.
Other than that, have fun and HAPPY CACHING!! and as usual, don't forget to sign the logbook with the pencil. lol
Cheers, cliffy & 300Mag :)
